A 1-bedroom apartment features a separate bathroom and bedroom; some 1-BRs provide a kitchen area that is apart from the living area, while other one-bedroom apartments tend to be more "open concept," having a kitchen that is open to the living area.

1-bedroom apartments are the perfect rental option for singles and couples. Figment’s furnished 1-bedroom apartments are spacious enough to accommodate couples and even co-sharing friends.

Our shophouse one-bedroom apartment rentals can comfortably accommodate up to two people. You might find that sharing a studio with your significant other would be much easier than sharing one with a close friend. That said, Figment provides spacious shared living areas for you to let loose beyond the confines of your apartment.

The main difference between a 1-BR apartment and a studio is that a 1-bedroom apartment provides a closed off bedroom area that is away from the dining room, kitchen and living area. On the other hand, studios are generally a self-contained apartment that houses everything including a kitchenette within a single apartment with an attached bathroom.

If you want to invite your friends over often and rental pricing is less of a concern for you, a 1-bedroom apartment makes better sense overall.
However, If you will be living alone or with one roommate whom you're totally comfortable with and would like to save the most money you can, we'd suggest a studio apartment as your best bet.
