About the House

House Jogoh is Figment’s first heritage bungalow. Named after local multidisciplinary artist, Jogoh, the artworks in the House revolve around the subject of memory, dreams, and the landscape of the mind. Utilising a diverse range of mediums such as photographs, prints, drawings, and watercolour paintings, Jogoh skillfully captures the beauty and magnificence inherent in the ordinary.

The House itself features gracefully curved corners, a playful mix of circular and square-patterned windows and ample alfresco space. The antique wrought iron grills and stained glass add a distinctive touch to the House, bathing its rooms in soothing, healing hues of green – further emphasising its sanctuary-like, natural ambience.

The house is split into two wings. Andante, Cirrostratus, Cirrus, Cumulus and Dolce Studios are in the front wing, whilst Nimbus, Nocturne, Stratus and Vivace are in the back. All members are welcome to use the common areas located on the first and second floor of both wings, where they can cook, do laundry or hang out at the dining and bar tables.

All Studios come with adjoining bathrooms. Like the rest of the house, Studios are newly refurbished, sporting simple furnishings that complement the warm hardwood floors and tall ceilings. In light of pandemic-normalised WFH arrangements, all Studios come with work desks and high-speed WiFi for members’ optimum productivity.

River Valley is a neighbourhood just a stone’s throw away from shopping district Orchard Road. Its central location appeals to those who want to enjoy convenient access to premium amenities yet value the quietude of a residential address.

A popular haunt for cafe-hopping, some of our favourite brunch spots include Common Man Coffee Roasters, Craftsmen Specialty Coffee, and The Book Cafe. Interesting places you can only find in this neighbourhood include the Russian Supermarket where Eastern European fare are stocked, STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery for your contemporary art fix, and Crane, a member’s club that hosts co-working spaces and community activities.

What do you mean by shophouse living?

Shophouse living means living within conservation shophouses – quintessentially Singaporean works of art. These storied shophouses boast high ceilings, patterned jalousie windows, unique façades and layouts, and each one with its own unique history that will make your everyday living experience that much more memorable.

As historical urban dwellings, shophouses are located in vibrant heritage districts that allow you to experience that street level ambience and belong to the neighbourhood. When you live at Figment, you are living in a boutique home – not a cookie-cutter, copied-and-pasted condo compound.

Wait a minute, isn't that just coliving?

Not so much – this is Figment’s vision of shared housing for grown-ups – that’s mature working professionals. We aren’t here to slice and dice apartments into matchboxes just to stuff as many ‘tenants’ as possible into a building, adult-dorm style. With Figment you always have room to breathe.

You can socialize as much as you want to, but you also reserve the option to retreat to the quiet comfort of your private studio within a spacious 3000ft² shophouse.

How many people are allowed to move into one studio?

We have a maximum occupancy of 2 pax per studio.

What is included in the rental rate?

You get a fully-furnished studio that’s move-in ready. WiFi, utilities, and weekly cleaning of the common areas are all included. To get you started, we’ll provide one complimentary set of bedding and towels, plus some basic household essentials. Of course, your rent includes the use of shared laundry and kitchen facilities, along with common areas for living and dining. You will also enjoy complimentary access to our members-only ‘living-room-away-from-home’, Figment Club House.

Are there any house rules?

We have a common set of house rules (such as quiet hours) across our homes, which all members are expected to agree and adhere to before their stay.

What are your payment methods?

We accept payment by local / overseas bank transfer, PayNow or credit card (processed by Stripe; note that 4% fees apply)

Do you require a security deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit of 1.5 month’s rent before the commencement of your stay to secure your booking. This security deposit will be refunded within 30 days from the end of your stay.
